What is Stellar?
Stellar has its own value, but unlike Bitcoins, it is not intended to be used as a means of payment. Rather, it is intended to be a broker for currency conversion. In fact, its founder is Jed McCaleb, the co-founder of Ripple. But Stellar's approach is somewhat less institutional than Ripple's, which has a much more aggressive corporate purpose. Stellar is an open-source payment technology. Combined with XLM cryptocurrency, it is an ideal system for micropayments, mobile payment compatibility, services, and areas where there are not enough banks.

Stellar appeared in 2014 because of a disagreement between the founders of Ripple. Jed McCaleb had a different vision, so he launched a new project that, unlike Ripple, which focuses on providing solutions for banks, aims to facilitate payments between people.
Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP)
Stellar Consensus Protocol, usually you can see it by its acronym in English SCP (Stellar Consensus Protocol), is used by the network instead of what is known as Proof of Work or Proof of Work. SCP was designed to achieve an optimal level of protection against intruders on the network. It is a more secure protocol that aims to provide greater protection against malicious activity. As noted above, Stellar servers exchange data and synchronize with each other to ensure that transactions are valid and properly posted to the ledger.
